Emily and Michelle are friends and neighbors who built their homes from the ground up. They bonded over their love for all things interiors and are passionate about crafting curated, warm, and timeless homes.
As mothers to young children, they are committed to designing spaces that are not only beautiful but offer lived-in luxury that resonates with the needs of modern families. They are big believers that homes should not be too precious to have a glass of red wine, build a fort, or cuddle up on the couch with your dog.
Their design philosophy is rooted in organic aesthetics, characterized by thoughtful layering of materials and textiles in a soft, clean palette. Emily and Michelle skillfully incorporate moody hues and patterns, introducing moments of visual interest while maintaining an overall sense of harmony.
Meet the Founders
Emily
Prior to co-founding E+M Interiors, Emily worked as a women’s clothing buyer for a major department store. As she became a mother to two boys, her focus evolved from fashion to a passion for interior design, driven by the desire to cultivate an inviting and beautiful space for her family to grow.
Leveraging her extensive retail experience, Emily combines creative vision with business acumen. She understands how color, print, and fabric work together to create a cohesive and compelling story within a space. This understanding along with her experience working within a budget enables her to expertly blend products across a range of price points.
Michelle
Michelle has been successfully working in the creative arts industry since 2010, working in Entertainment for many top A-list actors in California & New York. With extensive home management experience, Michelle has led many projects from start to finish with simplicity and ease. Her love for the arts and home design has always been on the forefront and has been a dream come true when designing her home in NJ from the ground up. It was during this time, she decided this should be a new business.
Rooted in the belief that style should be both beautiful and functional, Michelle is committed to transforming your home into a space where every area radiates warmth and serves as a backdrop for creating cherished memories.
